Proving insight and accuracy in compliance

Helical PLC partnered with McGrady Clarke to support compliance with the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) Phase 3 requirements. Our energy experts conducted independent site audits, providing valuable insights and recommendations for improving energy efficiency. We also assisted Helical with their ESOS Phase 3 Action Plan, which outlines what initiatives they are carrying forward.

Our ESOS Phase 3 site selection methodology ensured a strategic, data-driven approach, prioritising energy-intensive sites for audits and ensuring a geographical spread of sites. This allowed for a representative sample that accounted for varied energy consumption levels, regional climate variations, and operational diversity maximising energy-saving opportunities across Helical’s diverse estate.

McGrady Clarke upholds the highest standards in energy management by adhering to the BS EN 16247 framework for ESOS assessments, providing a streamlined approach to evaluate energy performance, identify improvement opportunities and recommend energy-saving solutions.

Actionable recommendations to save energy and reduce costs

Our energy specialists also assisted Helical with their ESOS Phase 3 Action Plan. Some energy-saving opportunities we identified and recommended during the audit have been carried forward and included in their action plan. One project involved replacing fluorescent lighting with LED lights, which is expected to result in significant energy cost savings. Another initiative focused on insulating previously uninsulated pipework, helping to prevent unnecessary heat loss and further reducing energy consumption

By supporting Helical PLC as they look to meet their ESOS Phase 3 obligations and integrate these recommendations into their operations, they are well-positioned to optimise energy efficiency, reduce costs and lead the way in sustainability within the real estate and property development industry.
